I am writing in response to two particular areas: Land north of Woodfield Park Road (SHLAA ref HT08284) HSB 0006 and adjacent plot HSB0007 which is south of the railway line and north of the A259, behind Southbourne Road.

I feel that development of these two areas is not compatible with the west of city wildlife corridors, and urge you to take these two areas out of the plan for land to be developed in the future. A screen shot of the wildlife corridor is shown on the adjacent map, clearly showing the land areas in question.

In addition, the development of the land HSB0007 (south of the railway line) will seriously impact the amount of green space between Hermitage and Westbourne - your policy states that the identity of the separate settlements should be maintained.

Loss of green space north of the A259 in these two plots of land will mean that even more people will have to use the land adjacent to the harbour, creating even more activity around the harbour and away from the countryside.

Further development of these two areas (HSB 0006 and 0007) will not deliver the 1250 homes due in Southbourne, and I feel that it would be better to have a strategic development area which can better provide facilities and infrastructure for the new homes.

It would be scandalous to use every bit of green space and still have to develop larger tranches of land to deliver the 1250 homes that Southbourne has been allocated - far more than in any other area in the district.

I hope you will take these two areas out of the potential development area for the reasons stated, and look forward to your response.
