Improved cycle routes between Fishbourne and North of City, through land associated with this development

Full text:

As part of this development, alongside increased housing in Fishbourne, it would be helpful if the public footpath at the edge of this development, between Salthill Lodge and Salthill Road, could be made into a more established cycle/footpath. The current footpath is unusable for cyclists for large parts of the year for a variety of reasons (overgrown hedges/brambles, uneven, narrow path, small section that often floods and turns 5-10 metres of it into a swamp) and I know it is not a cycle path, so understand that is not maintained as if it were. I am unsure of the ownership of this piece of land and what is possible, but it provides an mainly off-road, direct and mostly safe route from Fishbourne to the north of the City so would be beneficial to bring into proper use, to be able to be used by cyclists as well as walkers without wellies. It is currently only usable in summer when it hasn't rained for a couple of weeks and other routes into the city cross too many roundabouts and/or narrow/dangerous/busy roads. The route across from Salthill Road to Salthill Lodge and then onto Salthill Lane, if established properly, would also provide access to Centurion Way for connecting routes.

Another route in from Fishbourne is down Clay Lane, then across the field just before the level crossing. I believe this is where access to the development will initially be, but I could be wrong on that. That field is also a mainly off-road route onto Centurion Way, which, through Parklands the north of the city can be accessed. This was also only usable in summer, but now area is being developed, it would be good if access could be maintained throughout development where possible or if not, access continued following the development, through what would be a quieter road route than down Westgate.
