Policy AL1.12: Improvements to the Sherborne Rd./St. Paul's road junction. I submit that it is very important at this point to provide, during the execution of these improvements, a traffic-lit pedestrian crossing across St. Paul's Rd., to enable pedestrians to cross safely to and from Parklands Estate and East Broyle Estate. The traffic on this road is usually heavy and at rush hours, or when it is in use as a relief road to a blocked A27, it is queueing and beyond the road's capacity. This will become more problematical as construction traffic for the new White House Farm Estate builds up. However, it is a key link for pedestrians from East Broyle to/from the local shops on Sherborne Rd.,, and more important it is also used by school pupils from East Broyle who attend Parklands or Bishop Luffa School, and by Parklands pupils attending Jesse Younghusband School. Much of this pedestrian traffic is at the rush hours. I am aware of evidence of accidents/near-misses at this very difficult crossing. Please include a safe pedestrian crossing with these improvements.
