Draft A27 Chichester Bypass Mitigation Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) Version 2 - May 2024
1.0 Introduction
Representation ID: 6564
Received: 11/07/2024
Respondent: Linden Downland Graylingwell LLP – c/o Vistry Southern
Agent: Andrew Burgess Planning Ltd
• Improvements to the A27 should not be the sole responsibility of housebuilders.
• A proper justification to exclude other uses from contributions has still not been provided. A few token lines have been added
• We are still in the current Local Plan period which did not suggest that 700 dpa would not have an unacceptable highway impact.
• The emerging Local Plan is the correct process for introducing the need for additional contributions towards the A27 where the evidence can be properly assessed and considered. The SPD is prematurely introducing these contributions in the interim
• CIL Test conflict as set out in the November 2023 representations has not been resolved.
The SPD should be withdrawn and the issues considered as part of the Local Plan Examination.
