Not always the case though. Often existing communities views are ignored. They are a valuable resource and their experience and knowledge should be involved at the planning stages to ensure well balanced integrated developments that don't then impact on existing neighbouring areas ie Graylingwell where the punative parking system has had a huge negative knock on effect on existing residential areas, now clogged with over spills car parking from new development.
